We are seeking a Finance Risk Pool Manager PSJH who will support local ministry/entity leadership teams and may serve on local leadership committees as assigned. Responsible for financial analysis and modeling of full risk and partial risk managed care operations in order to evaluate the effectiveness of health plan and provider contracts, and their impacts on total cost of care. Propose recommendations for achieving financial goals and budgetary targets for managed care results. Additionally, to provide financial analysis for strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting and to develop analytical reports to assist in enhancing utilization performance and in increasing cost efficiencies. May also serve as a resource to clinical service line leaders and medical management leadership. Other responsibilities may include development of financial plans, budgets, and support for month-end review of financial statements and other assistance as required.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Carries out the mission, vision and values of Providence St. Joseph Health; assists local medical group and hospital finance leadership in managing managed care costs against budgets.
Provide support to local medical group, hospital and corporate leadership teams in reporting, reviewing and analyzing combined managed care operating results for ministries assigned; complete or assist in completing periodic forecasting of ministry results.
Assist with data sharing and reconciliation among various data systems as well as developing methods for standardizing data collection, database design, validation reports and analysis of statistical population health utilization, cost and quality analytics to develop total cost of care targets for at risk populations.
Review and participate in local capital budgeting and proforma analysis of appropriate investment.
Assist local leaders in interpreting and developing plans to improve institutional and medical group internal and external managed care costs (may include institute financial reporting and value oriented architecture analysis).
Support leaders in analyzing and developing plans in relationship to Insights (costing) data, performance and productivity data.
Provide direction in accomplishing mission sustainability efforts including tracking results of such work.
Create and manipulate queries and reports, including exporting information to Excel.
Interact with appropriate shared services partners (i.e. revenue cycle, system financial planning and analysis, resource engineering and hospitality, system accounting) in reviewing and analyzing information.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Accounting or Finance related field or equivalent education/experience.
5 years working with full risk managed care data as well as medical group and hospital financial information.
Ability to use spreadsheet and database tools to develop mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
Ability to analyze information, evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Ability to analyze information gathered by investigation, and report findings and recommendations.
Knowledge of financial principles and practices and the ability to apply them effectively.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Certified Public Accountant, HFMA or FACHE certifications.
