Providence is calling a Compliance Specialist II to Providence Health & Services in Burbank, CA OR Irvine, CA.
We are seeking a Compliance Specialist II to provide compliance and privacy program support to management across Providence Health and Services and its Affiliates in furtherance of our mission and to provide an effective compliance program. A Compliance Specialist II is expected to possess mid-level skills in investigative and research techniques and practices, while developing greater expertise in certain regulatory, compliance and privacy topics. This position works with highly sensitive information.
In this position you will:
Perform assigned investigations and compliance projects following ERMS practice standards while keeping management well apprised of results and completion status.
Participate, under the direction of a senior or manager, on large, complex, multi-location or system-wide projects or investigations, including work being performed under the direction of legal counsel.
Act as technical resource within ERMS for select regional or PSMS functions/activities. Answer questions, analyzes data, conducts research, conducts interviews and makes recommendations to address compliance and privacy matters.
Analyze, under the direction of a senior or manager, investigative results and draft recommendations that will improve controls and mitigate risk to the organization.
Monitor assigned open recommendations working closely with client management to assure action plans are completed and risk is mitigated in a timely manner.
Provide input to educational and other program documentation.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors of Arts or Sciences in healthcare, business administration, accounting, finance, management information systems, or related fields of study is preferred. However, an equivalent combination of education and healthcare experience will be considered.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
One of the following is required for all applicants:
Minimum of 3 years of progressive ERMS internal audit, information security or compliance/privacy experience;
Minimum of 3 years of progressive compliance/privacy experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
