Providence Manager, Case Management (RN) in Burbank, California
Providence is calling a Full Time/Day Shift Manager of Case Management (RN) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
We are seeking a Manager of Case Management (RN) who will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within the Care Management department. This individual will be responsible for staffing schedules, daily work assignments, direct daily operational activities, and serve as a resource regarding case management policies, regulations, and services.
In this position you will:
Meet monthly budget targets as well as productivity standards, on an ongoing basis.
Meet contract labor budget with a variance of no more than 5%.
Complete 100% of staff evaluations on time.
Meet the established turnover rate including 90 day, 1 year, and annual turnover.
Assure 100% staff attendance at hospital required classes, including but not limited to, ethics training.
Initiate peer interviewing in the department for 50% of open positions.
Demonstrate knowledge and performs work that is consistent with established age-specific policies and procedures, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, or activities that place patients at risk, Communicates pertinent age-specific information to all clients when needed. Communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner.
Effectively manage department staff including selection, orientation, training, corrective action, evaluation, competency, proactive communication, positive feedback and recognition.
Demonstrate leadership in the organization in relation to department and hospital initiatives.
Enhance staff growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, staff meetings, in service meetings, and workshops.
Maintain, implement and update department policies, procedures and job descriptions and assures compliance.
Identify and maintain appropriate staffing levels, work assignments, and schedules for the department.
Prepare work schedules, Complete work assignments, and assigns personnel.
Assist the Director in establishing department performance goals and objectives to meet and maintain established organizational performance standards.
Review department performance in relation to established goals. Implements changes to effect continual improvement in the services provided. Makes recommendations for personnel actions as necessary.
Interact with physicians to ensure appropriate utilization of services, effective care coordination, timely transition of patients along the continuum of care, and discharge planning is coordinated to provide for the patient’s post-hospitalization needs at the appropriate level of care.
Participate in hospital and/or medical staff committees as required. Attends meetings and serves as a department representative.
Maintain department productivity standards, payroll, and daily operations within budget requirements.
Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources.
Assist the Director in collecting and analyzing data, formatting reports, and presenting information.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Current California Licensed RN
Five (5) or more years acute care hospital/medical center case management experience
Three (3) or more years supervisory experience
Candidates without a BSN: Five (5) or more years management experience
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
3 years with BSN: experience
5 years case management supervisory experience.
