Registered Nurse Senior Risk Management Specialist

Location: Fullerton, CA

Work Schedule: Full time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days

Under the Director of Risk Management/Regulatory Readiness and/or VP of Clinical Excellence, the Senior Risk Management Specialist is responsible for the most advantageous method of correcting, reducing, or eliminating identifiable risk. The Senior Risk Management Specialist will have a general knowledge of hospital/SJHS insurance programs. In collaboration with the Director of Risk Management/Regulatory Readiness, the Senior Risk Management Specialist will assist in managing claims against the hospital, interface with defense counsel, conduct risk management educational programs, complying with risk management related standards (e.g., The Joint Commission and other accrediting and regulatory agencies) with the objective of enhancing and promoting patient safety and quality care.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • 3 years experience in hospital risk management, including progressive experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating a risk management program.

  • 3 years Clinical experience in an acute care setting.

  • Valid California Registered Nursing License.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification.

  • CPHQ certification.
