Providence Senior Manager Cloud Migrations in Irvine, California

Description:

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Manager Cloud Migrations to our location in Redmond, WA; Portland, OR; Beaverton, OR; Anchorage, AK or Irvine, CA.

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Cloud Migrations to be responsible for advising, consulting, and managing Providence’s large-scale digital transformation efforts through migrating our IS Application Portfolio to Azure. This individual will be closely aligned with our Application Portfolio partners, as well as Azure Solution Architects to coordinate planning, advice, timely updates, and ensure timely execution of our migration to the cloud, modernization within the cloud, and optimize our cloud infrastructure resources.

This role is also accountable for providing enterprise-class data center facilities that are available 24x7x365 without interruption. In addition, the Sr. Manager, Data Center Operations is responsible for overall management of all PSJH Data Centers and other controlled spaces that provide highly available and resilient access for caregivers to necessary electronic tools.

In addition, this role is responsible for the deployment of all new technical infrastructure components within PSJH Data Centers. This includes managing structured cabling systems, accurate equipment inventories and placement and maintaining clearances for easy serviceability.

This role works collaboratively with internal IS teams and external vendors to provide highly available and reliable infrastructure services.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Designs, maintains, and recommends improvement to enterprise-class data center facilities, insuring that are available 24x7x365 without interruption.

  • Owns the delivery and continuous update to a continuous improvement cycle using the approved Data Center Strategy as its Playbook.

  • Provides a service oriented Data Center Service that guarantees the safe handing, installation and operation of all IS caregivers and customers computer hardware.

  • As a member of the IS Operations leadership team, participates fully in the ownership of issues and incidents both within and outside the scope of Data Center Operations.

  • Responsible for the management and support of all critical IS facilities including data centers and conditioned spaces.

  • Works with the TEO leadership team to identify key trends related to service failures and introduce strategies for remediation and service improvement.

  • Works with Enterprise Monitoring and Network Operations Center to establish, operate and escalate via monitoring and automated tools to improve the reliability of IS services.

  • Ensures that all activities of the Data Center organization are performed within the parameters of defined strategy and policy.

  • Maintains currency on information technology in general and accountable disciplines in particular. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of current strategies, technology and standards, recommending enhancements and modifications through established collaboration mechanisms.

  • Maintains relationships with key business partners and other senior leaders in the IT industry in order to leverage best practices, evaluate emerging technologies, and distribute knowledge internally to inform plans and strategies.

  • Develops and implements appropriate service delivery models for core functionalities where the IS organization is a trusted adviser in defining, delivering, and improving services for the enterprise and its customers.

  • Attracts, hires, trains, motivates, retains, and develops a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of the various communications functions.

  • Working with IS leaders across PSJH, defines service models and reporting mechanisms for accountable disciplines as a part of overall PSJH IS service design. Designs, implements, maintains, and operates departmental Service Level Agreements, Operating Level Agreements, and associated KPIs.

  • Monitors the performance of the accountable disciplines and evaluates the performance of technology services on the basis of specific KPIs.

  • Oversees budgeting and expenditures for all data center services, as well as cost-allocation methodologies to operational areas.

  • Leads the development of and monitors compliance with policies and procedures for communications, consistent with overall strategy and standards, throughout PSJH.

  • Develops and negotiates preferred information technology vendor contracts and manages key vendor relationships.

  • Oversees IT operations for the specific areas of accountability of this position.

  • Serves as Sponsor and/or Owner, as appropriate, for technology projects and initiatives within areas of accountability

  • Ensures that direct reports are meticulous in executing defined administrative practices – budgeting, financial management, personnel management, compliance, mission, and other defined areas.

  • In all activities, the incumbent treats all others with respect and demonstrates excellence, justice and compassion in daily work.

  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of all information, including financial/operational, employee/human resource, healthcare/patient data and information.

  • Partners with the entire IS leadership team for disaster recovery architecture, projects, and policies and participates in disaster drills.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or Information Services or equivalent education/experience.

  • 8 years related experience.

  • 6 years leadership experience.

  • Experience managing enterprise-class data center facilities, including design and maintenance activities.

  • Information Services technical leadership experience in leading IS infrastructure operations teams.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience as an Agile Scrum Master.

  • Cloud Architecture or Cloud Migration background.

  • Azure AZ900 Certification
