Providence is calling a Clinic Supervisor (Full time/Day Shift) to Providence Medical Institute in Los Angeles, CA.

We are seeking a Clinic Supervisor who will oversee and develop clinical and non-clinical staff: Work in close collaboration with Practice Managers to ensure development and competency of clinical staff. Mentors and develops all staff members. Support Patient Centered Medical Home teams, removing barriers and promoting excellent patient care. Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the Providence Health & Services mission and philosophy.

In this position you will:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily non-clinical operations in the clinic (i.e., appointments, patient flow, medical records, and registration/reception) and workflows supporting clinical staff not involving clinical decision making.

  • Assign duties to clinical and non-clinical staff.

  • Develop and implement the daily work schedule. Coordinates back-up staffing, as needed.

  • Participate in all components of staff hiring (interview, selection, hiring, on-boarding, orientation, training and supervision) i.e., Patient Care Representatives, Medical Assistants, and Receptionist, performance evaluation, competency testing (with Practice Manager), staff development and motivation, promoting employee recognition.

  • Coach employees on performance. Initiate disciplinary processes as required by policy, documenting and delivering corrective action when necessary. Final corrective action and disciplinary process could include termination. All disciplinary process must be conducted along with Practice Manager involvement.

  • Work on a team with Nursing Quality Supervisor to assure overall effective operations of the clinic to support patient care needs.

  • Ensure enforcement of business office policies within the clinic.

  • Oversee the maintenance of the clinic building, offices, and equipment.

  • Lead staff meetings.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities as needed.

  • Participate and/or regularly attend forums or meetings as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 2 years of experience in a progressive leadership role in a clinic setting.

  • Requires knowledge of health care environment, medical office policies, procedures, and human resource management practices.

  • Requires strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of business office procedures.

  • Adaptability to adjust processes to optimize patient access to support clinic productivity.

  • Lead and adapt to change with evolving healthcare environment.

  • Ability to understand the influence and impact of all decisions on the practice.

  • Ability to build trust and accountability with each team member regardless of their area of expertise.

  • Flexibility, confidence, initiative and creativity.

  • Requires knowledge of health care environment, medical office policies and procedures, and human resource management practices.

  • Requires strong written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Requires ability to identify and solve problems, make decisions, and implement change and system improvements for long-term resolution.

  • Ability to work in collaboration with other health care professionals (i.e. Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, RN’s), patients and their families.

  • Requires ability to establish priorities, organize, and coordinate work activities.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR combination of college level health care management course work.

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records, Windows, and Excel-based software.
