Providence is calling a Senior Quality Management Analyst (FTE/Shift) to Providence Facey Medical Foundation in Mission Hills, CA.

We are seeking a Senior Quality Management Analyst who will participate in and be responsible for a wide variety of complex data analyses related to Providence Medical Foundation's managed care operations and quality management across the Los Angeles region. Using data analysis, this position will aim to understand operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop/implement recommendations for process improvement. This position provides meaningful reporting and analytic solutions to leadership and physicians. This includes interpreting data and analyses to help business stakeholders in making operational and strategic decisions. The position will provide expertise and leadership in monitoring and reporting on quality metrics that impact operational processes and organizational goals. Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are required to partner with various work groups including physicians and all levels of staff/management.

In this position you will:

  • Deliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and fellow staff members by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions; and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expected

  • Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients

  • Work in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards. Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotline

  • Act as a subject matter expert regarding quality improvement programs and related metrics, business and data processes, and operational goals

  • Responsible for data collection, reporting and project coordination related to the annual Pay for Performance, CMS 5 Star, and other quality improvement programs. Review and reconcile data that supports performance in these programs

  • Create, analyze, interpret, and distribute reports related to specific programs. Ensure timely distribution of reporting

  • Act as a liaison with operations and clinicians for any reporting changes requested

  • Work with departments to identify issues and root causes. Use process improvement methodology to close gaps

  • Analyze data on a regular basis, determining explanations for large or unusual variances from historical trends or organizational goals; collaborate with Healthcare Intelligence, Clinical Informatics, and Decision Support to validate the integrity of data

  • Create summary and detailed reports and presentations for leadership to support business and strategic decisions

  • Effectively collaborate with other departments/vendors to develop and implement reporting tools and process to allow continual monitoring, benchmarking, and actionable reporting to maximize performance


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree Or equivalent educ/experience

  • 5 years professional and analytical experience as well as project management and process improvement

  • 3 years experience in health care, quality management and/or managed care operations

  • Knowledge of analytical tools and techniques to investigate data trends, identify issues and draw conclusions

  • Proficiency in complex problem solving, performing root cause analysis and developing change implementation plans. Expertise in managing multi-disciplinary projects

  • Knowledge of health care operations, including workflows using electronic health records

  • Knowledge of quality management and managed care operations

  • Ability to independently prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and manage multifaceted projects

  • Ability to review options with stakeholders negotiates disagreements, communicate status reports and escalate problems appropriately

  • Must possess analytical skills

  • Must possess project management and facilitation skills

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access

  • Must possess patient registry and database proficiency

  • Manages multiple projects and prioritize appropriately

  • Coordinates tasks and trouble-shoot with multiple parties

  • Applies creativity and initiative on a broad basis

  • Effectively manages conflict with tact and diplomacy

  • Assesses situations, considers alternatives, and chooses appropriate course of action

  • Works independently as well as in teams

  • Maintains professional competency and organizational involvement by participating in continuing education, in-services and task forces

  • Carries out professional self-development plan to maintain and update professional skills

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Public Health or Healthcare Administration

  • 3 years experience in data collection and reporting
