Nursing Director

Location: Mission Viejo, CA

Work Schedule: Full time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days

Under the direction of the Executive Nursing Director, provides multidisciplinary leadership and administrative authority for multiple patient care units and departments on a 24-hour basis. Assumes service line accountability and responsibility for the management and development of programs within the service line and for the operations and results in each designated patient care unit or department. In the absence of the Executive Nursing Director, the Director, Nursing Services will be designated to assume the authority and responsibility for directing the activities of the nursing departments. Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession. Advocates for the protection and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing and other professions, especially related to health and safety. Adheres to the ANA Nursing Administration, Scope and Standards of Practice.

Required qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, or

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, and

  • Master's Degree in relevant field of management, policy, or administration.

  • 5 or more years Nursing experience, with 3 years in nursing leadership.

  • Current licensure as an RN in the state of California.

  • Certification in nursing administration, management or specialty area as approved by American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Magnet.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Second national certification in nursing administration, management, or specialty area, as approved by American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Magnet.

  • ACLS.
