Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours
Shift: 12-hour, Nights
Under the direction of the Department Manager or Clinical Coordinator facilitates an optimal practice environment for the care of the laboring/delivering patient. Expertly uses the nursing process, labor management and support tools to promote normal vaginal birth when possible. This includes reviewing all patient's labor management, suggesting alternatives to Oxytocin, ensuring all patient safety checklists are followed and collaborating with attending OB/OB Hospitalist to ensure high-quality care. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to reviewing fetal heart rate tracings with response as indicated, responding to emergent situations, audits, break relief, simulation training, and unit education.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
2 years Experience as a Registered Nurse in a labor and delivery setting.
Current California RN license.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Inpatient Obstetric Professional certification (RNC-OB) within 6 months.
Master's Degree in Nursing.
Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification.
