Senior Laboratory Assistant - Microbiology
Location: Orange, CA
Work Schedule: Full time - 80 Biweekly Hours
Shift: 8-hour, Days
Under the direction and supervision of the Division Supervisor, the Sr Lab Assistant ensures accurate and timely drawing, receipt, centrifugation, and delivery of laboratory specimens to appropriate departments and reference labs. Staff duties may include specimen collection (Phlebotomy), receiving, accessioning, plating and set up (Processing, Microbiology), and loading specimens on instruments and basic instrument maintenance (Chemistry, Hematology).
1 year experience as a Phlebotomist or Lab Assistant performing blood specimen collections, specimen processing, centrifuging and handling send out specimens to other Laboratories, or experience in working in a laboratory division.
Current California State Certificate for a Certified Phlebotomy Technician l (CPT1).
American Heart Association CPR card.
2 years experience in blood specimen collections.
2 years experience performing specimen processing, centrifuging and handling send out specimens to other laboratories, or working in a laboratory division.
