Providence Health & Services Clinical Social Worker - LMFT - Intensive Outpatient Program in San Pedro, California
Providence is calling a Per Diem, Day shift Clinical Social Worker – LMFT or LCSW to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro in San Pedro, CA. Schedule will provide coverage for any gaps with vacations and leaves in department. Meetings happen 3 days per week for 3 hours per meeting and Per Diem position may help to cover some or all of these meetings depending on coverage needed at any given time.
In this position you will:
Provide clinical social work services on the Bridges inpatient program in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of LCM-SPH and the NASW.
Therapy and IOP or PHP experience is preferred.
Discharge planning experience is a plus!
Be responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, and discharge planning/case management service, crisis intervention, and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the hospital.
Represent Bridges at Court hearings for patient competency.
Patient to include: Young, middle and older adults at LCM-SPH Bridges. Designated as a Behavioral Health Clinician to perform 5150 evaluations. Licensed Marital Family Therapist must follow Dept of Mental Health guidelines
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of an accredited Master’s Program in Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.LMFT licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and registration with BBS required.
Designated as Behavioral Health Clinician to perform 5150 evaluations within 18 months of hire. All LFMTs must follow the guideline by Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health for LPS designation and keep their designation in current status
Requires 2-5 years’ experience in healthcare related setting with psychiatric mental health patient population in area of service, preferably in an inpatient setting.
CPI certification (nonviolent crisis intervention training) within 1 year of hire.
Requires advanced communication skills to communicate effectively with patients, interdisciplinary team, physicians and the community.Must be able to fluently speak, read, write and understand English.
Requires flexibility and strong self-motivation / organizational skills to prioritize work and make decisions with minimal supervision.
Requires computer experience / literacy as needed for the job.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing; physical agility to manage patients; push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds; intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping; drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen, and as defined by the RU-91 form.
Requires a courteous and cooperative service-oriented demeanor.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Knowledgeable of case management, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, family therapy theory and practice, and community resources with discharge planning experience preferred
