Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator is responsible for oversight of all Capacity Building and Leadership development efforts within the Best Start Wilmington partnership.

The Project Coordinator works with subcontractors to arrange specific training topics and technical assistance. The Project Coordinator is also responsible for organizing and coordinating resident/stakeholder engagement & advocacy efforts in the Wilmington community.


Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • CA Driver's License

  • 2 years of Experience working with underserved communities; preferably in one of the 14 Best Start communities

  • 2 years of Experience leading and organizing community resident trainings and workshops

  • Experience working and collaborating with different community stakeholders

  • Experience working on resident advocacy issues

  • Bi-lingual English /Spanish required

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and to participate fully in a team process

  • Possess flexibility, initiative, and ability to work under pressure

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and communication skills with colleagues, community members and representatives from other community organizations.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple and varied activities, prioritize duties and document services provided

  • Proficient computer skills.

  • Strong public speaking skills with an ability to engage participants in an interactive manner

  • Ability to organize events, trainings, workshops, and large gatherings

  • Strong record keeping and data collection skills
