Providence Health & Services Supervisor - Best Start Wilmington Project in San Pedro, California

Providence is calling a full time, day shift Supervisor for our Best Start Wilmington Project at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro, CA

*Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

*Must be available some nights and weekends

In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for the overall implementation of the Wilmington LSN program

  • Insure that the Scope of Work objectives, activities and deliverables are achieved

  • Be responsible for capacity building and leadership development efforts within the Best Start Wilmington partnership

  • Facilitate meetings, act as a liaison, and respond to the Best Start Wilmington Partnership, Leadership Group, Regional Support Network, community partners, and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

Required qualification for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience

  • Current California Driver's License

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and to participate fully in a team process

  • Possess flexibility, initiative and ability to work under pressure

  • Strong leadership skills with a solid foundation incommunity mobilization/partnershipformation

  • Experience cultivating relationships with civic leaders, business community, faith based representatives, and convening community stakeholders

  • Experience facilitating community meetings, resident councils or parent committees

  • Experience managing resident capacity building or leadership development training

  • Experience or familiarity working in the community of Wilmington or a similar community

  • Experience or familiarity with First 5 LA community-based projects

  • Extensive experience with community-driven, grassroots initiatives requiring intensive collaboration and partnership

  • Experience in contract compliance and reporting

  • Proficient computer skills.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's degree

  • Previous experience implementing and managing community projects

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
