Providence Health & Services Associate Professor - Translational Cancer Immunology in Santa Monica, California
Providence is calling a Full Time, Day Shift Associate Professor to Providence John Wayne Cancer Institute Santa Monica, CA.
In this position you will:
Be a PhD or MD as junior or mid-level faculty position in human translational cancer immunology.
Lead the translational immunology program at JWCI/SJHC and develop a cutting edge program that would support cancer immunotherapy clinical trials.
Experience in anti-cancer cellular or humoral experience and understanding of modern checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy will be considered.
Must have considerable experience in the field and developing translational assays.
Required qualifications for this position include:
PhD in the field of cancer immunology (preferable human translational) with >5 years postdoctoral experience or experience as junior or mid-level faculty in translational cancer immunology.
5 years in cancer immunology research (cellular, humoral, and/or molecular) pertinent to scientific translational studies with demonstration of excellent publication record.
Experience in grant writing; track record of obtaining cancer immunology grants.
Experience in independent scientific research, manuscript writing skills.
Experience with patient specimens, and ability to lead a research group with clinical specimen assessment as PI.
Be able to lead a program and have vision of future cancer immunotherapy strategies.
Must be able to develop and lead a strong translational cancer immunology program related to modern immunotherapy such as checkpoint inhibitors for solid tumors.
Be able to interact with clinicians in assessing specimens from immunotherapy trials.
Have a proven publication and grant track record in human cancer translational immunology.
Be able to develop cutting edge approach in immunotherapy assessment and/or identify new immune targets at the cellular and/or humoral level.
Must be able to develop system biology approaches of assessing the immune repertoire related to immunosuppression, metabolism, and/or effector regulatory mechanisms during patient treatment with modern day cancer immunotherapeutics.
Familiar with immunotherapy programs of tumors such as in melanoma and other solid tumors.
Be able to integrate and provide immunologic study support to ongoing programs at Institute.
