Providence Health & Services Student Nurse Assistant - Orthopedics in Santa Monica, California
Providence is calling a Per Diem, Day Shift Student Nurse Assistant to the Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA.
In this position you will:
Perform delegated routine, predictable patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse ( RN ) in an acute care environment.
Be accountable for the delivery of safe, compassionate, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.
Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association ( ANA ) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Key functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit specific onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty.
Focus areas ( which may be department dependent ) of delegated tasks are listed in Appendix Delegated Tasks.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Must provide evidence of current enrollment, in good standing, in an accredited BSN or Entry Level Master’s program ( ELM ) for registered nursing.
Must provide evidence of successful completion of an initial clinical care course ( typically within the first clinical semester ) within the enrolled nursing program.
Documentation as a Certified Nursing Assistant by the State of California may be required in some clinical areas.
Documentation of current completion of American Heart Basic Life Support is required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Military Training Network (MTN) upon hire.
Requires ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely and effective manner.
Proficiency with Information Technology; such as electronic health records, communications systems, computers and equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the position.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude.
Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations.
