Providence Health & Services Central Services Technician in Tarzana, California
Providence is calling a Central Service Technician (Full Time/Variable S hift) to Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking a Central Service Technician who will report to the Central Service Manager or Supervisor in their absence, this position maintains a supply delivery service to all departments directly connected to patient care. Collect and enters patient charges for established departments/units. Use established purchasing practices to maintain department inventory and supplies. Perform cleaning and disinfecting duties
In this position you will:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect
Support and participates in activities that foster customer service
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education
Attend and successfully completes general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications
Demonstrate knowledge and performs work that is consistent with established age-specific policies and procedures, including but not limited to, selection of appropriate sizes, flow rates, etc ... when issuing supplies, or completing surgical procedure trays. Communicates pertinent age-specific information to all clients when needed. Communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric
Count supply carts according to established par levels on a daily basis. Notes or records supply deficit
Rotate and replaces out dated materials as required
Collect patient charge cards from nursing units
Stamp patient information on patient charge cards and replaces on nursing units
Receive supply requests through the O.C. Computer System, fills and delivers supplies needed
Receive, tag, and put away incoming supplies in designated area
Distribute supplies and equipment to units in a timely fashion
Keep a log of outgoing stock to help maintain inventory in the department
Order rental equipment or orthopedic supplies from outside vendors and maintains a log of such transactions
Enter data of Central Service supplies used from the issue logbook into the IMMS computer system
Order supplies and special orders needed for Central Service using the IMMS computer system
Charge patients for supplies used through the O.C. Computer System
Perform pick-ups of soiled and discontinued equipment
Decontaminate equipment using hospital approved germicide and returning equipment to proper area
Enter incoming and outgoing CAMS # into DME computer system
Receive orders and stocks floor supplies on an ongoing basis
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
RCST or CRCST from professional organization/association. (IACSHMM, et al.)
