We are seeking a Food Services Worker who will be responsible for the following dish washing/cleaning operation tasks such as tray stripping, operating dishwasher, pot and pan washing, cleaning of kitchen equipment, cleaning carts and floors.
In this position you will:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect.
Support and participate in activities that foster customer service.
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate.
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education.
Attend and successfully complete general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements.
Participate actively in department staff meetings.
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications.
Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric.
Provide individualized care as required, taking into consideration specific needs of the adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients.
Clean the kitchen area and cooking utensils.
Carry dishes between kitchen and production lines.
Operate dishwasher to ensure all dishes and utensils are clean. Record temperatures on dish washing machine log sheet.
Work on tray assembly line in assigned position.
Direct and monitors workflow to and from dishwasher to maintain an even flow of used dishes, trays, silverware, etc., through the various cleansing operations and checks for bottlenecks and overloads.
Prepare, load, transport, and clean food carts.
Collect, process, and dispose of trash, cans, bottles, and similar debris and transports to disposal area.
Participate in post-meal clean up tasks.
Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Alert supervisors of problems and needs concerning equipment. Detects and reports defective supplies/equipment or other unusual conditions.
Participate in flexing work schedules to ensure effective and efficient use of staff while maintaining quality of work.
Attempt to understand the needs of others in relation to the Food and Nutrition Services Department. Uses good judgment when responding to others’ needs and the welfare of the department.
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
- Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire.

- Food service experience a plus
