Providence Health & Services Insurance Verifier (Per Diem) in Tarzana, California
Providence is calling an Insurance Verifier - Per Diem to Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking an Insurance Verifier to be responsible for securing appropriate patient account reimbursement by obtaining complex demographic, insurance, and medical information, identifying services requiring authorization for treatment and referral information.
In this position you will:
Ensure Admission Notification has been completed and verify insurance eligibility.
Identify services and payers requiring authorization, ensuring required authorizations are in place; identify services requiring a referral and ensuring it is in place; identify services requiring consent forms and ensuring signed forms are in place.
Ensure Motor Vehicle Accident, Workers Compensation or other Third Party Liability paperwork has been completed.
Process real time eligibility work queues and assigned denial work queues timely and accurately; closely adhere to set schedules and handle time standards; identify, resolve and escalate major issues and service failures that impede success.
Maintain current knowledge of and competency with numerous Federal, State and other regulatory body compliance regulations and third-party insurance plans.
Use multiple computer applications to establish accounts and obtain verification information; ensure all computer system entries are completed accurately and timely.
Maintain accurate, clear, concise, and complete account notes and other relevant information; maintain confidentiality of all patient demographic, medical, and financial information, ensuring proper handling and disposal of confidential documents and adherence to HIPAA.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire.
One (1) plus years’ experience in customer service or healthcare registration.
Clerical and computer experience.
Knowledge and experience with State, Federal and other regulatory Compliance Regulations, including: Medicare Secondary Payer, EMTALA, and ABN.
PC Proficiency in MS Windows and Office applications. Or Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes electronic and automated work tools (e.g., online access tools to payers, work drivers).
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Prefer 3 years of experience working with various healthcare insurance plans
2 years of college level coursework.
Completion of college level medical terminology or Medical Assistant course.
Healthcare experience in a hospital or clinical setting, health insurance or medical office, or previous registrar.
Verification or third party payer experience.
