Providence Health & Services Lactation Consultant in Tarzana, California
Providence is calling per diem, variable shift Lactation Consultant to Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
In this position you will:
Be responsible for the delivery of patient care through breast-feeding assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation
Link breast-feeding support services for Women and Children Programs
Serve as a lead consultant that will provide breast-feeding education and assistance to in-patients and outpatients
Provide education to nursing staff
Ensure that consistent support is available to all patients
Required qualifications for this position include:
2 years experience as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
2 years experience in an inpatient Postpartum, newborn or couplet care setting (willing to be trained to function in a Neonatal Intensive care unit (NICU) setting)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association
Keep up-to-date on continuing education credits required by the International Lactation Consultant Association ( ILCA ) to maintain IBCLC status
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
