We are seeking a Environmental Services Technician who will perform cleaning duties in alignment with the vision and Core Values of the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines. The EVS Technician will maintain assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition at all times.
In this position you will:
Support and carry out the Core Values on a daily basis
Clean assigned areas according to established standards and 7-step cleaning process
Perform occupied and discharge room cleaning per departmental and infection control standards
Perform surgical post case and terminal cleaning
Clean isolettes according to proper procedure
Sweep, dust, vacuum, and mop in assigned areas using appropriate equipment
Stock disposable supplies, i.e., paper, plastic, soap, hand sanitizer
Handle biohazard waste appropriately
Handle biohazard waste appropriately
Arrange and/or moves furniture in patient and non-patient care areas according to room setup
Scrub, strip, wax and buff floors utilizing automatic and multi-speed floor machines and other specialized equipment
Ensure equipment is working prior to use
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing cleaning tasks and entering isolation rooms
Ensure Maxislide sheets are available in all in-patient rooms
Operate Xenex UV Disinfection robot in a safe and knowledgeable manner
Document and report items/equipment needing repair and hazardous conditions requiring correction
Stock supply cart for assigned areas with proper equipment needed to complete assigned shift
Maintains record of daily cleaning task assignment/checklist and ensures its completion
Ensure that the Epic bed tracking system procedure is followed (obtaining pager, logging in to system, putting oneself on break, logging out of system)
Collect trash and/or soiled linen from assigned areas within the units/departments
Perform room setups according to the daily event schedule and confirmed diagrams on weekends
Operate compactors and baler in a safe manner
Change privacy curtains
Operate washing machine and dryer
Deliver supplies to satellite storerooms and restock supplies in main storeroom
Maintain cleanliness of outside entrances, patios, sidewalks, parking structure elevator
Maintain cleanliness of elevators and stairwells
Keep Lead and/or EVS Supervisor informed of status of assignments, in advance of the end of the shift
Maintain communication with Lead and/or EVS Supervisor of any issues, problems that may arise
Actively participate in daily and weekly huddles and monthly department meetings and inservices
Required qualifications for this position include:
Requires enough basic education to understand and follow standard practice or oral and written instructions, able to ready and write, use simple arithmetic, keep simple records, or use simple office machines

Preferred qualifications for this position include:
