Providence Health & Services Lead Cook - Food and Nutrition Services in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a Lead Cook ( Full Time / Variable Shift ) to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA.
In this position you will:
Perform lead role in overseeing work of Cooks, Grill Cooks, and Food Service Workers.
Prepare seasons and cooks food for hosptial patients, employees and visitors.
Accurately prepares meals using proper techniques.
Prepares meals which are of good quality, seasoned properly, of proper doneness, temperature, consistency, on time and presented attractively.
Follows patient tally sheets and all recipes.
Labels, dates and rotates food appropriately and returns unused foods to proper storage areas.
Practices proper infection control techniques and keeps a clean environment.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Training in institutional food preparation
1 - 3 years previous cooking experience in large scale or institutional food service
Knowledge of cooking methods/procedures, including types of prepatration and related routines
Frequent prolonged standing/walking
Moderate to heavey physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Ability to fluently speak, read, write and understand the English language
