We are seeking a Senior Project Manager OEPM who will provide project leadership and project management for strategic projects and support the usage and standardization of project management processes, tools and best practices. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects in a coordinated way to ensure alignment with organizational strategies and to ensure the realization of prioritized and quantitative benefits. The Senior Project Manager will identify key stakeholder project objectives and requirements and provide tactical leadership on projects. The Senior Project Manager will ensure assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan. The selected individual will direct all phases of projects demonstrating proficiency in project management areas in accordance with accepted project management standard in the industry. He/she will provide in-depth analysis of projects culminating with lessons learned for incorporation into future project plans. They will ensure assigned individuals are executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.

Additionally, the selected individual will have a proven track record of managing complex projects and oversight of a portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to build positive working relationships with customers and key stakeholders and possess strong project management capabilities.

In this position you will:

  • Manage multiple (or a portfolio) of projects. Ensures that the overall collection of projects maximizes support to the achievement of the organization’s business goals and objectives. Serve as project-portfolio manager collecting and distributing data for reviewing, assessing, and managing projects to ensure that expected contributions to the portfolio and intended business benefits are met. Develop project plans and deliverables, direct all project phases and acts as primary contact to project stakeholders; Participate in or develops mechanisms for establishing, monitoring and integrating project elements, and communications concerning change management processes and decisions; Perform project management activities in accordance with accepted project management standards in industry

  • Actively lead project planning and design activities for high value, complex projects in a way which improves clarity of purpose, ownership, and understand of key interdependencies between key projects and subprojects, improving the probability of successful and timely deployment

  • Prepare for and leads required engagements with Executive Sponsors; acts as key interface between stakeholders to help facilitate team building, improved communication and continued project success

  • Ensure effective and timely communication throughout the project life cycle with the project team, Executive Sponsors, stakeholders and the Regional Director of OEPM. This includes developing, documenting and maintaining appropriate project plans, schedules progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations

  • Establish and improve the communication with and between stakeholders in a way that increases engagement and understanding of key project decisions, improving leadership confidence in ability to deliver per plan

  • Facilitate effective meeting design and execution to improve overall project communications and performance

  • Provide project status according to appropriate/required cadence

  • Identify and track project risks using project management tools and techniques and develop alternative plans for project completion

  • Proactively identify project scope changes, risks, dependencies and constraints; develops and executes mitigation plans and adjusts project plans, schedules, budgets and resources appropriately

  • Discuss project objectives and deliverables with the project team to obtain understanding and acceptance of work assignments

  • Engage and collaborates with the Regional Director of OEPM in order to align and comply with the overall best practices and tools and that appropriate project visibility is maintained and exchanged

  • Measure project performance against cost, schedule, scope, and quality baselines while applying industry best practices and lessons learned

  • Facilitate decision making and escalation of risks, issues, and changes to project/program scope, budget, and schedule

  • Present project status to identified project stakeholders to keep them informed of progress and changes to the project

  • Develop and maintains positive working relationships with administrative, clinical leadership and all stakeholders on the project(s)

  • Support management team with development and organization of materials for executive level presentations and coordinates agenda development and building of the final decks


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (from an accredited college/university)

  • Seven (7) years dedicated, project management experience

  • Experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio

  • Apply PMBOK standards to project management activities, including, but not limited to, risk and issue management, scope management, schedule management, cost management, and benefits management

  • Strong attention to detail and follow through skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • Proven project management skills, and accurate sense of reporting, anticipation, risk identification, communication methods

  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work with and influence others

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Project

  • Ability to analyze data, consciously recognize any errors present and develop executive summaries based on interpretive findings; demonstrated ability to execute analytical thought processes

  • Strong quantitative analysis, root cause analysis, logical structuring and business case development skills

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team; excellent networking and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to translate data and findings into information and display it in a useful manner for constituents

  • Builds effective working relationships with others

  • Travel required depending on location of project (25% plus)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or related field

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification

  • 2 years experience in a Healthcare organization

  • Operational Excellence experience

  • Consulting experience
